ABOUT THE PROJECT
THE VEILED REALITY.
Throughout my life living with Dyscalculia, I’ve always struggled to talk to others about my condition. As I’ve become an adult, I’ve learnt how little support and awareness had not only affected my education but how it has affected my life, I began to wonder if other people living with similar conditions to myself had similar feelings and what their own personal experiences living with a neurological condition were.
It is estimated that between four and five percent of the population have an SpLD, and research has shown that boys and girls are just as likely to have an SpLD. Schools in England are failing to diagnose at least 80% of pupils who have dyslexia.
The Veiled Reality explores what it means to be an adult with a neurological learning condition, our stories throughout education, the struggles we face, the achievements we are proud of and the impact lack of resources and awareness brings to the lives of those who live with neurological learning conditions daily.
